How to get the cheapest hotel rates?

After several years of traveling (and scrounge all the savings possible), I ended up finding a infallible way to find the cheapest hotel, whatever the destination.

First step: go to the comparator of your choice (I use Booking). These sites are always very well made and allow you to easily select, via several filters, the hotels that suit you best.

Second step: when you’ve made your choice, paste the hotel name into your search engine and go to the property’s website (to find it at a glance, just look at the URL: most of the time it’s thenameofthehotel.com).

Third step: 9 times out of 10, the prices displayed on the hotel’s website are cheaper than on the comparators and the options are the same or more (cancellation, rooms, breakfast…).

Fourth step: before booking, switch to your mobile phone. Many hotels offer a mobile rate, which generally represents 10% of the booking amount. And here you go, you’ve got the best price available ✨

What about discounts?

When you create an account on a hotel comparator, you have access to some discounts right from the start. Don’t be fooled, they are not more advantageous than if you go directly to the hotel site.

The highest level of booking discounts is unlocked when you book more than 15 stays in 2 years. At this stage, it is sometimes more advantageous to book on the comparator than to spend on the direct site of the establishment.

The ultimate advice I can give you is not to be lazy about comparing!
