Coastal path in Cap-d’Ail

Don’t know where to walk? Try the coastal paths.

The coast of the Alpes-Maritimes and the Var is full of trails for pedestrians, more or less easy but always with breathtaking landscapes.

This is the one in Cap-d’Ail.

Starting point

The tour of Cap-d’Ail is not a loop, so you can choose to start it from one side or another: from Mala beach (below) or Marquet beach.

Itinerary

Starting from the Mala, you begin by walking along the cliff with a narrow staircase on the left of the beach. The view is stunning, one can even distinguish a small cave dug into the rock on the opposite bank.

Quickly you arrive on a wider path, rocky in places, which borders the sea. After Cap Rognoso and Cap d’Ail, you arrive at Marquet beach.

Difficulty

Easy. The trail is about five kilometres long and is flat, with the exception of a few stairs. Hiking shoes are not necessary but still avoid going in flip-flops.

Don’t forget to wear a hat and to bring a water bottle, there is little shade and it is very hot in spring and summer.
